Post Why not SUSY?
Last week (the first week of October 2016, about three weeks after Cole’s article on the ‘String theory officially dead’, see string-m-theory-as-quantum-gravity-is-officially-dead-t821.html ), there was a conference in Madrid devoted to the question: {Is SUSY Alive and Well?}.
Over 70% of the participants at the conference said that SUSY is alive in one reason or another (in October 2016). The detailed survey is available at https://workshops.ift.uam-csic.es/files/205/Survey.pdf .

How can String (M-) theory be dead while SUSY is alive? And vice versa.

The original String theory cannot produce fermions. Only by incorporating SUSY, it becomes different types of superstring theories, as follow:
Type I: Supersymmetry between forces and matter, with both open and closed strings, no tachyon, group symmetry is SO(32)
Type IIA: Supersymmetry between forces and matter, with closed strings only, no tachyon, massless fermions spin both ways (nonchiral)
Type IIB: Supersymmetry between forces and matter, with closed strings only, no tachyon, massless fermions only spin one way (chiral)
Type HO: Supersymmetry between forces and matter, with closed strings only, no tachyon, heterotic, meaning right moving and left moving strings differ, group symmetry is SO(32)
Type HE: Supersymmetry between forces and matter, with closed strings only, no tachyon, heterotic, meaning right moving and left moving strings differ, group symmetry is E8 x E8

That is, String (M-) theory and SUSY are Dicephalic parapagus twins.

In Standard Model, fermion is totally different from boson. Thus, there are two choices to explain this fact.
One, they are different in essence, and there is a physics for this difference.
Two, they are different only superficially, as there is a symmetry unifying them, the SUSY (with s-particles).

Mainstream physics thus far is unable to deal with the choice “One”. For the past half a century (almost 50 years), SUSY becomes the dominant paradigm for the mainstream physics. Yet, there is no evidence of any kind for this SUSY choice at the beginning and is still not having evidence of any kind even today (50 years later). The SUSY is based totally on WISHFUL thinking.

Of course, there is a good 50% winning chance for a one-in-two choice. Furthermore, if the other choice is unable to show any evidence for its winning, the SUSY choice can hold on its hope indefinitely, and this becomes the infamous “Gordon Kane SUSY u-haul enterprise”.

Can this “Gordon Kane SUSY u-haul enterprise” save SUSY?
No, as we do know that THIS universe is defined with a set of STRUCTURE parameters.
One, Higgs mass: 125.09 +/- 0.24 Gev
Two, dark energy/dark mass/visible mass distribution
Three, Neff = ???
Four, Hubble constant (Ho)
Five, baryongenesis
Six, dark flow???
Seven, nature constants (Alpha, Cosmology constant, etc.)

Can SUSY (even if it were true) address them? The answer is NO.
Again, if no one is able to address them, SUSY can still claim to be the ‘Only Game in Town’.
But now we know better; the choice ‘One’ provides answers for all those STRUCTURE parameters (see a-magic-numerological-formula-baryongenesis-t826.html ).

Now, SUSY (s-particles) is officially DEAD.
